Tourism minister A P Anilkumar will inaugurate Quad bike service in Payyambalam beach in a special function presided over by A P Abdullakutty, MLA on Monday 1st February 2016 at 12 noon. The Quad bike service is introduced by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) as part of the effort to promote beach tourism in the district.

This is the first time that the quad bikes are introduced Kerala. These bikes are already a sensation among tourists in other beaches of the country like Goa.
Quad bikes are a special vehicles which travel on 3 or 4 low pressure tires. These vehicles can be used on any terrain and hence are known as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), And these ATV’s can be used like motor bikes.
In the second stage the DTPC is planning to launch quad bikes in other beaches of the state like Muzhappilangad, Dharmadom, Meenkunnu and Chaal beaches.
The minister would also inaugurate the work of the tourism triangle circuit at Palakkayam Thattu, a spot that is 4000 feet above the sea level, in Naduvil village panchayat in the district.
