Minister A P Anil Kumar inaugurated two major tourism projects namely the Chootad beach near Puthiyangadi and Vayalapra Parappu in Cheruthazham Panchayat on Friday the 11th Dec 2015. TV Rajesh MLA presided the function. The projects were completed within 11 months of starting it.
The Chootad beach situated in Puthiyangadi near Pazhayangadi is a very attractive beach facing the Ezhimala hills. The beach is very clean and gives a very good view of the Ezhimala hills. There are a lot of Casuarina trees near the beach and it is very attractive. A walk through the closely planted Casuarina trees is very refreshive. There are groups of Casuarina trees separated by plains and it also makes it attractive.
The tourism project which includes the renovation of the beach and other facilities including marine travel facility was completed within a budget of 91.2 lakh.

The Vayalapra parappu park constructed on the banks of the Chemballikund River is constructed in 16 acre land within a budget of 85 lakh. The project includes park, solar lighting, pedal boating facility, bird watching facility and more. The renovation of the road adjacent to the Chempallikund river is on the way. The project is constructed in and eco-friendly way without disturbing ecosystem of the area which contains the aquatic life of the river, the mangrove forest and the migratory bird ecosystem.

The Vayalapra parappu is an ideal picnic spot so spend an evening, enjoy the cool refreshing wind, watch the sunset and take a drive through the road which runs parallel to the river a few kilometres.
