At Thenmala Eco-Tourism, a visitor is taken care of by its well-trained staff providing guidance and information about the various attractions and facilities, enabling one to move about, explore and experience every bit of this remarkable destination. There are well-placed signboards, direction pointers, and information boards to facilitate one’s movement inside the project area. Divided into different zones with a particular theme, the project area currently has three major zones viz.
Culture Zone, Leisure Zone and Adventure Zone.
Culture Zone
At the Cultural zone one can experience art and culture of Kerala. The highlight of the zone and the most popular among the tourists is the open air musical dance fountain. Also there are a lot of activities like taste the traditional dishes of Kerala from the restaurants at the cultural zone, go for a shopping, visit the amphitheater. The tourism facilitation centre at the cultural zone provides information on a wide range of products available at Thenmala.

Leisure Zone
This zone is a forest garden. Try the boardwalk which leads to the dam. There is a Sculpture Garden with 24 sculptures, which has man and nature as the theme, with green forest in the background which depicts unpolluted nature. The sway bridge here is an entertainment for children.
Adventure Zone
The adventure zone promotes adventure tourism. The attractions in this area include

The Elevated Walkway is the main attraction here, which takes you close to the nature. The walkway flies over rocky areas though the canopy of large trees providing an aerial view of various features here. Take a walk through the trees enjoying the bird’s eye view of the flora and fauna of the region, crisp of birds, cool calm winds and beauty of Mother Nature.
In spite of the zone based activity there are other activity at the Thenmala.
Boating in the Shenduruney Wildlife Sanctuary
A one hour boating in the Shenduruney wild life sanctuary offers the view of unique scenic beauty and hillocks of high lush evergreen forests, and if you are lucky enough you can see animal sightings also.
Deer Rehabilitation Center
At the Deer Rehabilitation Centre one can see spotted deer, Sambar deer and the barking deer. It’s been established to rehabilitate deer’s that stray out from forests.
Butterfly Safari
Here a garden planted with host plants for the butterfly has been created which helps a large number of butterflies to thrive. A guided walk here enables a visitor to see and learn about the butterflies. The best time to see butterflies are between 9:00 to 10:00 in the morning and 4:00 to 5:00 in the evening.
Nakshatravanam
The Nakshatravanam is a garden comprising of 27 trees of medical, social or aesthetic value associated with the 27 birth stars. Walk along and get more information
Children’s Park
There is also a children’s park with various rides and your kids will really enjoy it.
Also there are tree top huts and children’s eco-park, riverside treks, and battery powered vehicle rides through the forest, enabling one to sight wildlife from a close distance.
